Friday morning my Dad, Hannah and I went to the Science Museum in London. The coolest thing I saw there was when we went to see a movie in the IMAX Theatre. The movie was about a journey in space where you got to figure out how all the Apollo’s went to the Moon. They showed how they practiced for their trip to the Moon and I got to wear 3D glasses to get the full effect. After that, my Dad did a simulation where the computer changed his face so that he looked like a woman! He looked like a hairy hamster! It was really funny!
After that, we headed to the London train station called Waterloo to meet Grandpa and Ann. We got there just before their train arrived from Scotland. It was so GREAT to see them; it’s been a long time. We took the Underground to their hotel and helped them get checked in. Then we all went out to dinner and after that my Dad, Mom, Hannah and I took the train back to Bromley South and got back to Grandma Rachel’s and went to bed.
Saturday was a great day. We all went to the British Museum and met our friends Ed and Benjamin who we met when we were traveling in Egypt. They live in London and we met there to explore in the Egyptian area of the Museum. Benjamin had been there before so it was a lot of fun. He brought his little sister Emelia too. It was great to meet her and she and Hannah had a good time together at the Museum. After we finished there, we went to a great place for lunch called the Ultimate Burger. It really is the ULTIMATE burger too! I had a cheeseburger, catsup only, and French fries. It was the BEST! Then we took a bus to Trafalgar Square, walked over the Jubilee Bridge and walked over to the London Eye. The line to get a ticket at the London Eye was miles long as was the line to get on the Eye. So we decided to save it for another day. We said “goodbye for now” to Ed, Benjamin and Emelia. I look forward to seeing them again someday like when we come to London next or maybe if they come to visit us in California!
Sunday Dad, Hannah and I met Grandpa and Ann at the Tower Bridge in London. They had just finished their visit to The Tower of London where they had a great time, especially seeing the Crown Jewels. We drove to Greenwich where we had lunch and went to visit the indoor market since it was raining. After that we got back in the car and drove to the place where the Prime Meridian marks Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). We got to see some amazing clocks and through the telescope where I saw Pluto…the dog! Not the planet! After that, we went back to Grandma Rachel’s house where we had a yummy, yummy dinner with everyone there. Auntie Shelley and David, my Dad, Mom, Hannah and me. And Grandma Rachel who had cooked up a feast! We all had a good time together and did lots of catching up. It’s been a while since we have been together so there was a lot of talking! After that, my Dad and Mom drove Grandpa and Ann back to London and guess what? It snowed on their drive home! But it didn’t stick. Oh well.
Monday was a BIG day. We got up early and took the train to London with Grandma Rachel. We met Grandpa, Ann, Dad and Mom and took the underground to Kew Gardens. There were flowers everywhere and it was HUGE. We saw all kinds of plants in different habitats and even an aquarium with a Piranha! It made me think of Finding Nemo and the girl named Darla who was going to get Nemo for her birthday! Anyway, next we went to visit Hampton Court. And when we got there, my Dad took Hannah and I into a big maze made of hedges. I got lost in there. But I found my way out. My Dad has a special way to get out of a maze. If you want to know, you just have to ask him! After that, we visited inside Hampton Court. I went with Grandpa and Ann and we saw a Tudor kitchen which was enormous and they were even cooking real food there like they did during Tudor times. We also saw the apartment (rooms) where King Henry VIII lived
and his feasting hall. It was really pretty amazing.
It was long day and we were tired. So we said goodbye to Grandpa and Ann and went back to Grandma Rachel’s.
Tuesday was another big day of last minute things and packing for the next part of our trip. We are going to Paris on Wednesday with Grandpa and Ann.
Wednesday was our last day in London and we packed and got ready (still). In the evening we had Passover dinner and Grandma Rachel made another delicious feast of all kinds of good foods. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert that I helped Grandma Rachel make. They were meringue cookies with chocolate chips in them. After dinner we crashed into bed since we have to get up early for our train to Paris.
